People Power knows that you probably have a nice assortment of outdated iOS devices at home. And if they're just taking up space anyway, you might as well find a clever way to repurpose them. The free Presence app is a great way to experiment with home security -- just don't let its prominently-featured online store trick you into spending hundreds on accessories. Also the webpage were you sign in and view the recordings never loaded all the way. The infamous loading circle just kept swirling. I tried Alfred next which was my second choice and everything is going smoothly.

It also offers a private web interface where you can watch the videos in real time. Check out our Presence app review for more great features about this app and also take a look at our best home security apps list for more options. As long as you keep that in mind, you can't really go wrong with Presence. It provides a lot of the same features as standard DIY security cameras without any of the expense. I particularly like its rules section and that you can use it to automatically set Home and Away modes.
One rule says, "If I come home, then make my iPad disable motion detection." Presence and Manything are both limited by the devices you use and the last OS you downloaded, including whether or not a flashlight is an included feature (if not, night vision won't work). That means that you'll have the same resolution, field of view and so on -- areas that can make or break traditional Wi-Fi camera comparisons that simply aren't applicable here. Presence allows remote viewing through web connectivity.

BUT it gave a second live to an old iPhone 4S now used as a cam in my garage. As long as this app is not improved, I would not pay for it. I chose it over Alfred because Alfred abuses you with popup ads.

Manything's cloud storage service is based on time rather than storage amount. So instead, it provides 12 hours of free storage and charges $5 per month for 7 days or $15/month for 30 days. These are only slight differences, though, since both have free options with optional fee-based upgrades and neither one can accommodate local storage.

I have the basic plan and it’s good other than a bit slow but for free I’m not complaining. Even the upgrade to Pro is reasonable but I just want to keep an eye on the inside of my safe. If others have access to your valuables/guns/jewelry/cash etc this is a great way to monitor who is in there and what they are doing. I caught someone in there that shouldn’t have been. If it wasn’t for this app I would have never known.
People Power's free Presence iOS app turns your out-dated iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch into a live-streaming, motion-detecting security camera. It would be great to have the option of sorting/grouping videos by camera. I have multiple cameras and sometimes would like to group footage by the camera that recorded it. Presence isn't compatible with Android devices, it doesn't have an IFTTT channel, and it's constantly trying to sell you its optional fee-based cloud storage upgrades and third-party products. To set up the system, you should install Presence on two devices. Your old device can serve as the camera and the other one as monitor.
Iphone.apkpure.com needs to review the security of your connection before proceeding. Presence works on iOS 6.1 or newer and is optimized for iPhone 5. Still, it will work on the iPhone 3GS and newer, iPad 2 and newer and iPod Touch 4G and 5G. I tried Presence out on an iPhone 5, an iPad 2 and a first-generation iPad Mini -- both as cameras and as on-the-go viewers. So it developed Presence, an app designed to quickly convert your backup iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch into a quasi-security-camera. It’s best to leave it connected to a charger and obviously plugged in.
It captures a five-second video clip and sends it to you via email. You can then log-in to your Presence account if you want to monitor the camera in real time. Home automation and smart technology is not just about making your home more energy efficient and secure, there’s also some fun to be had.
